Matrix!

Some of you know I started fiddling with Matrix a few months back when discord had the whole.. you know

Up until recently, if you navigated to https://matrix.kitsunehosting.net/ you'd have been met with the parking paragraph I wrote about how I was unhappy with the changes, but no longer! If you go there now... A fully functional and federated synapse server!

At the moment, I'm running that server at the edge but with the intention to have it run (or at least proxied) through a VPS for some more high availability. Not that I don't trust my own infrastructure! I'd just like to rely on something like chat a little more. The DB is stored locally and in addition, I've also been running mautrix (as part of https://github.com/mautrix/discord) and its super cool! I am incredibly happy with the performance so far. I think if possible, I'd like to make a few small tweaks especially to the invite system BUT since the whole project is open and I'm free to customize the installation to matrix, that will be happening in the future.

ALSO! Matrix integrations! I'm very excited to start on the journey of porting most of my bots to matrix either fully or doing some kind of joint feature parity. It looks like at least on the matrix side, that won't really be too much trouble.
